The tall structure that was installed at the 2nd entrance is a sewer stack. The Residents Association sent an email to Cork County Council with concerns expressed by residents. The following were the questions asked:
- Q: an explanation as to why it was deemed necessary to install this pipe and to clarify what function it is designed to serve?
- Q: whether it had received prior approval by the Council’s Planning Department?
- Q: whether it is a permanent or temporary structure?
- Q: what risk assessment was undertaken on the generation of gases in this area and whether there are any health and safety implications for residents/passers by
- Q: who will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring it?
- Q: why no prior consultation with the residents adjacent to it or with the Grange Manor Residents Association was conducted before this installation took place?
A response is pending from the Council.
